Shipping Delays Due to Severe Flooding

Dear valued customers,

We hope this email finds you well. We wanted to reach out to inform you about the current situation here in Central Vermont. As you may be aware, the Northeast region is currently experiencing major flooding, and our area has been predicted to be worse than even Hurricane Irene. We are currently in a state of emergency.

First and foremost, we want to assure you that we are safe, and all our animals are safe as well. While many around us have been evacuated, we have decided to stay put and ensure the well-being of our livestock.

We kindly request your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. We anticipate that our ability to respond to phone calls, texts, and emails will be limited. We will do our best to address inquiries sporadically, but please bear with us considering the circumstances.

Regarding any orders that were scheduled to be shipped this week, we regret to inform you that the flooding has made it impossible for us to access the roads and towns necessary for shipping. This includes a major city here in Vermont, where we typically dispatch our birds. Therefore, if conditions do not improve, we may have to cancel all shipments for this week. Please understand that the safety of the birds is our utmost priority.

For those who have orders in the “ready to ship” area, we would like to clarify the protocol in case we cannot ship on Tuesday (tomorrow):

– If you receive this email and your order is not in the “ready to ship” area, please disregard this message as it may have been sent in error.

– Live animal orders are typically shipped on Tuesdays, and hatching eggs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. However, this week, if conditions allow, all live animal orders will be shipped on Wednesday, and egg orders will be shipped between Wednesday and Friday. However, if conditions do not improve, we may have to cancel all shipments for this week.

Throughout the process of preparing your order for shipment, you will receive a tracking number via email. We understand the importance of timely updates, and we will ensure that you receive two additional emails containing tracking information.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and flexibility regarding these shipping arrangements. We recognize the inconvenience this may cause, but our top priority is the well-being of our birds and ensuring their safety during this extraordinary situation.
